It's time for the Illinois 5-Essentials Parent Survey! I have shared the link on Facebook as well as through an email. Please take time to fill out the parent survey. This is an opportunity for you to tell us about your experiences with us. We use these results to guide planning and instruction and to generate ways that we may better serve you and your student. Click on the link below to start the survey. When it asks for the county please type in Douglas County. We must have at least 20% of our parents fill this survey out to get results. Currently we are at 12%. If you haven’t filled it out please take a few minutes to do so. If you need access to a computer please come into the office and we will set you up on a chromebook within the building to take it.

Drop-Off in the morning/Pick up in the Afternoon
Please remember when you are dropping students off in the morning that it is a "drive-through" system. Please do not park in the middle of the drive so people cannot get through. If you are needing to park to get out of the car or watch students go into the building you will need to park in a parking spot and let them walk in from there.
A reminder that we do not want any cars entering or leaving the East parking lot until after 3:35. If you are picking up your child after school we ask that you park on the road and either wait in your car or walk up to meet your child. This is for the safety of our students. Please follow these rules so we can ensure the safety of our kids at dismissal.

3rd Quarter Expectations will focus on attendance. Attendance is one of the key components of being successful and meeting educational goals. Our expectations this quarter is that we will have a school-wide daily attendance rate of 96%. Anytime we meet the goal our students will earn a letter to reveal a hidden phrase. When they unveil the hidden message they will earn the quarterly party. As an added incentive, any class that has perfect attendance can take a report to Mrs. Patterson’s room. The class will be given a Knight Buck and they will earn a sticker. The class with the most stickers at the end of the quarter will earn some sort of prize.
Our Cool Tool for January is going to focused on Setting Meaningful Goals. With the start of the new year we are going to focus on setting goals. Everyone should have a personal goal that they are working towards. Setting goals helps us to be successful in life. It gives us a sense of accomplishment when the goal is met. We want to encourage our students to always set goals and work hard to achieve them.
