Attention 6th, 7th, and 8th grade parents: In order for students to purchase extra food at lunch it is required that they have money in their account. We cannot sell extra food to them if they do not have money in the account to use. They will never be denied a lunch tray, this only applies if they are buying an extra milk, a milk if they brought their lunchbox, or any of the extra food that is available for purchase.

ALICE- Alert,Lockdown,Inform,Counter, Evacuate
Letters went home on October 7 and 8 explaining our upcoming ALICE drill. This is an active “shooter” drill that we are mandated to have within the first 90 days of school. I have a link at the bottom of this paragraph that will take you to the letter that was sent home. We are working with the local law enforcement, fire department, and EMT service to have personnel onsite the day of the drill. We held a parent meeting on October 17 at 5:30pm in the library at AHGS. Please refrain from making appointments that day in which students will need to be picked up early or brought in late. Also, please note that we will be using the phone lines during the drill so you may not be able to get ahold of the school. Just as we would in a real crisis or lockdown situation, we will not be letting anyone in the building once the drill starts. The drill itself will only last a short time, but the time is unknown to students and staff. If you have any questions please call the office at 578-2229. If you would like to have your child not participate we do have a form you can sign in the office. You can also call and let us know over the phone.

Drop-Off in the morning
Please remember when you are dropping students off in the morning that it is a "drive-through" system. Please do not park in the middle of the drive so people cannot get through. If you are needing to park to get out of the car or watch students go into the building you will need to park in a parking spot and let them walk in from there. Thank you for your cooperation with this.

We are continuing to implement our PBIS program (Positive Behavior Intervention System) in the building. Each month we will have a goal and share “Cool Tools.” For October, our goal is to lower the noise level in the hallways for grades K-5. For 6th through 8th we are focusing on keeping our building clean.
Our cool tool for October is tied in with Red Ribbon Week. This week we focused on the people that support us.. Our family.  It’s no lie, drugs will make your mama cry! - Your family has big plans for you and they want you to be here to live out your plans and theirs!

Parent-Teacher Conferences
There is still time to set up an appointment to meet with your child’s teacher.
