COVID-19 has thrown the entire world off-balance in just a few days. It has altered everyone’s lives, and not just left students wondering, but everyone thinking about what the future may hold.

Many events are being postponed, such as dances and graduations. Sports seasons such as track and field, baseball, and softball are even being canceled. Students are left with nothing to look forward to, and an unknown path for their future. With major events such as the 2020 Summer Olympics being postponed until 2021, and the rest of this year’s NBA season is canceled, it has shown that everything can change in a matter of minutes. There is a shelter in place order, and people are encouraged to take extra precautions when going out in public.

Although COVID-19 has caused chaos everywhere, schools are still doing their best to continue giving an education to their students. Students are now continuing their education through extended learning, as known as e-learning. E-learning allows students to receive assignments from their teachers so they can keep learning. Teachers give assignments online, or students pick up packets with their materials.  One of the perks with e-learning is being able to do the material at your own pace. Another perk is being able to work in a more comfortable environment than at a desk. Although this is not an ideal situation, teachers are working as hard as they can to help their students succeed.

COVID-19 has been eye-opening as to what can change in a short amount of time. Luckily, students have e-learning as an option and can continue to learn while living through what will become an important part of our history.
