The sunshine and warmer weather certainly make it feel like spring is around the corner. This week at ALAH brought some of those activities that confirm this. We had Freshmen Orientation, virtually of course, students are signing up for their fall classes and we celebrated National FFA Week. Did you see the tractors in the parking lot?!
Monday, March 1st starts our extended school day. We will be in person until 1:47. (Isn’t it kind of crazy that we are talking about an extended school day and it still ends before 2:00?) We have decided to use these extra minutes in a study hall format. This will give all students time to receive extra help from specific teachers, go to the math/writing center or just spend time preparing and studying. Our juniors will also be able to spend a few extra minutes preparing for their upcoming SAT. We will also be able to start having class meetings as well as gathering some of our clubs. These are parts of our school day that we have certainly missed. And it also comes at a great time, as the final week of our third quarter is next Friday!
Our entire district is involved in a facilities planning study. This is an opportunity for all of us to join in conversation about our schools. Have you been looking for new Knight gear? Today we opened the ALAH Knights Sideline Store! This store will be located on our web-site and open year round (click on menu and select ALAH Knights Sideline Store.) There is so much to choose from. Everything from wall decals to cups, shirts, shorts, sweatshirts, you name it! Attention Parents of the Class of 2021, have you and your senior checked out the scholarship page on our website? Mrs. Hart has been reminding students to check this out. There are tens of thousands of dollars available, many of them local scholarships. Please encourage your student to work on these as due dates are quickly approaching.
