Hello Knight Families:

On Wednesday, May 12th, we hosted our traditional Honors Night. This is one of the best nights of our school year! We were thrilled to be able to host it in person. Winners received an invitation in the mail and were able to invite their family members and friends.  Over 50 community organizations, families, and colleges awarded 36 seniors over $844,000 to be used over the next four years. Of this our local communities donated over $165,000 in scholarships.

Also last night, NHS inducted 23 new members into the Arthur Lovington Atwood Hammond Chapter of the National Honor Society in a semi-normal, yet socially distanced, environment. New members are: Regann Bowles, Charley Condill, McKayla Custer, Quentin Day, Cass Diener, Emma Edwards, Alisha Frederick, Josie Hale, Wyatt Hilligoss, Rachel Kinney, Gavin Mechling, Alexa Miller, Taylor Miller, Brady Moore, Kaiden Morfey, Michaela Powell, Emma Sausman, Kaylee Schrock, Clay Seal, Aaron Seegmiller, Ashley Seegmiller, Shalie Taylor, and Zack Woodard.

During the ceremony the students that were new to NHS in 2020, but did not have an official NHS Induction ceremony because of COVID restrictions, were also recognized. They were Adriana Burton, Raegan Cheek, Jacob Duzan, Jace Green, Layton Hall, Kade Herschberger, Jack Martin, Ben Matheny, Sarah Rafferty, and Kaitlyn Zander. These students joined Cassidee Pantier and Erin Schrock as members of 2020-2021 NHS.

It is so good to be able to have our traditions in person and be together to celebrate!

With only a few school days left, we want to remind everyone that these final days of attendance are crucial.  Final exams are Tuesday, May 25th and Wednesday, May 26th.  Faculty are working to finish covering the material they need to and then plan review time before finals.  Attendance makes a difference!

Don’t forget the grade school PTOs have asked for help in promoting their Give 5 for District 305 program.  (The high school is included in this program too!)  Please see the link attached for more information about helping them reach their goal.
