Dear Loving Grade School Family,

As the new principal of our PreK-8th grade students, I am both excited and honored to be stepping into this role as a member of this great school community.  Over the past month I have had the opportunity to learn so many things about the school from the leadership, staff, parents, and students, I am humbled by a shared purpose and excited about the journey that lies ahead of all of us as we navigate a new school year.  Our relentless commitment to put students first here in Lovington will be a great springboard for all that we have to look forward to in the months to come.

I have had the privilege of already meeting some of you and I look forward to meeting each of you in the coming weeks.  My family and I have moved here from La Moille, IL where I spent the last 8 years teaching 4th grade and Title I Reading.   Before the time, I served as the Junior High Alternative Education teacher for Bureau County Special Schools.  My background also includes facilitating a children’s group home in Macomb, Illinois.  I have spent the last two years working toward a Masters in Educational Leadership and have been reminded that our purpose as educators is to meet our students where they are and work as a team to address gaps in students’ learnings, offer support for challenges that are beyond our control, and motivate all of us to aspire to greatness.

I look forward to learning with you and from you this year.  We will continue to review and develop the educational programs we offer here in Lovington and ensure that we continually challenge ourselves and our students to keep reaching and growing.  I look forward to meeting those of you that I have not yet had the privilege to connect with and know that together we will accomplish amazing things for our students.  I am looking forward to leading and learning together!

Yours in education,

Mrs. Marla Graham
