Good morning! As we continue to navigate through this pandemic and as we prepare for the start of the school year, we were all thrown another curveball with the recent change in the return to school criteria. On Wednesday, August 4th the Governor held a press conference where he informed us all that the return to school criteria would be adapted to include a mask mandate for all school districts public and private in the State of Illinois. Soon thereafter, the Illinois Department of Public Health and Illinois State Board of Education followed with their updated document for schools to follow which mirrored the Governor’s mandate that all students regardless of vaccination status must wear a mask while indoors. The process that the Board of Education developed to come to a conclusion included a Special Meeting to hear from our communities and an additional Special Meeting to vote on how we would begin the school year. This decision did not come easy and many factors were considered moving forward. Although some strong opinions vary on this recent mandate, the Arthur CUSD 305 school district will begin the school year in compliance with the recent mandates. The revised plan has been posted to the website and we will continue to monitor the situation and update our students, staff and communities when any future changes are implemented. Thank you and we look forward to another successful school year.

For those that would like to purchase their tickets ahead of time, you can purchase tickets for either second game (3rd place or Championship) and will be allowed in to either game as long as it is a Class 1A ticket. The IHSA will clear the facility after the first game and you will have to re-enter with a new ticket for the later game.

The Class of 2022 senior fundraisers begin in July with parking at the Moultrie-Douglas County Fair. We need seniors to work this fundraiser. This fundraiser typically raises between $200 and $250 per student per shift, so if your child works two or three shifts, they could potentially raise all the money for their senior trip. If your child is interested in this fundraising opportunity, please have them sign up on the Google document that was recently emailed!

Each year, English II students work on a Career Research Project. Our students choose a career they are interested in and complete a paper and presentation on the topic. This year we want to spotlight a career each day from a member of our community. The goal is to help students become familiar with a variety of careers. What we would need from you would be a 30-60 second video telling the students about your career. You can also include what you love about your job or what made you choose this career path. This project will begin on March 1st. If you are interested in participating, please contact Mrs. Huffman by email at huffmank@cusd305.org. Thank you for the support.
