                                                                Weekly Update

The first week of learning packet distribution was a success. Thank you so much for picking up the packets. It is essential that we work together so we can ensure the continued learning of your student. Teachers have been reaching out to students all week. Please make sure your student is checking their email. If you have access to Google Classroom please make sure they join that as well.  If you do not have access please just complete the packets the best you can. Teachers are available for questions through email. Reach out to them as questions arise! We are a team and they understand that not all students have access to google classroom, google meet, etc. As of right now we are asking that you plan to return completed work each week when you pick up the new packets. If you do not have access to email and your teacher has not been able to get in contact with you please call the office at 578-2229. If no one is there please leave a message and we will get the message to the teacher as soon as we can.

Meal distribution will be next Monday, April 6 from 9-11 am. If you are picking up meals during that time we will continue to put your updated learning packets in with your meals. When you come to pick up meals please bring your child’s completed work. If you can put it in either a ziplock bag or a Walmart bag with your child’s name, grade, and homeroom teacher on the front that would be appreciated! We will make sure it gets to the correct teacher. If you are not picking up meals we ask that you come get your child’s updated learning packets and return completed work anytime from 3-5 pm on Monday, April 6. Again, if you can place your child’s completed work in some sort of bag with their name, grade, and homeroom teacher on the front that would be wonderful.

Remember, both procedures will be run as a drive through. We ask that you come into the East parking lot. A staff member will be out there to “check” you in and we will bring materials to your car. In order to practice social distancing we ask that you just open your trunk and we will place materials in the trunk. If we cannot get into your trunk we can place things in the backseat or hand them to you through the window.  Please have your child’s completed work in a bag in the trunk or ready to hand through the window as well. This helps ensure that when we deliver the meals and/or updated packets we can retrieve the completed work without making physical contact as well.

Continue to follow us on social media. Make sure you are checking your email each day for updated information. If you have any questions my email is nallk@cusd305.org. Please reach out if you need to. Thank you for working with us through this time. We hope to see everyone soon! I hope you all have a wonderful weekend and get to enjoy some time outside while practicing social distancing. We will get through this together and we will be stronger as a district. I have seen so many great things from our staff, parents, students, and community. Currently the school closure is through April 30, 2020. As always, when we get any updates from the state we will communicate that to you immediately.

Sincerely,

Mrs. Kristin L. Nall, AHGS Principal
