ALAH Weekend Update Log

Good afternoon Knight Families:

Did you hear about Water Bottle Wednesday?  Our student council passed out Knights water bottles to all of our students (remote and in person) and each bottle had an individual number on it.  Every hour on Wednesday numbers were randomly drawn and prizes won!  It was a fun spark in our week.

Have you ordered pictures?  You can order pictures online at: inter-state.com/order using order code: 53154PA  Today we had a make up picture day and we have retakes scheduled for November 10th.

Every year in October we hold Parent Teacher Conferences. This year they will be held on Wednesday, October 21 and Thursday, October 22 from 4 p.m. - 8 p.m.  Of course, this year our conferences will be virtual.  We promise to make this as simple as possible for you.

It is often thought that many parents believe that by the time students are in high school, their presence at parent-teacher conferences isn’t needed or valued.  However, the reality is just the opposite. High school is when grades count for college, the military, careers and beyond.  We want you to partner with us. Parent-teacher conferences provide us the opportunity to meet  and talk specifically about your child, what their goals are, and how we can all work together.

You may sign up to meet all of your student’s teachers or just a class that he/she is struggling with or loves. You may also sign up for an appointment with our Guidance Counselor, Mrs. Hart.  If you are not able to attend during these blocks of time, we will help you schedule another time to meet.

Again, we want to invite you to call us at 543-2146 and sign up for Parent Teacher Conferences.

FRESHMEN and SOPHOMORES will NOT be at school on Wednesday, October 14th.  All freshmen and sophomores will be attending their classes remotely.  Yes, students will have assignments to work on which may include work in their Google classrooms.  Juniors and seniors will be in attendance, taking the PSAT and SAT, our state mandated tests.  All of our faculty and staff will be facilitating the test and not available on-line.

If you missed the presentation about financial aid for college, here is the link!  This is definitely a perk to everything being virtual.  So much is recorded, so we can share it later and you are able to view it at your convenience!

We are planning an outdoor Halloween concert.  It is tentatively scheduled for Thursday, October 29th on the football field.  It is refreshing to be planning an event for our students, families and communities.  Stay tuned for more information!
