Arthur District #305 gets ready to kick off their 5th annual Knightly Reading Family Literacy Event by welcoming neighboring author, Shoni Anderson. Shoni is an 8-year-old from Mt. Zion who wrote Warrior Princess with her mom to share their experience with cancer. Shoni will read her book out loud to an assembly of students in Kindergarten through 5th grade on Friday, January 19.
After the assembly, the youngest family member from Kindergarten through 5th grade will receive a copy of this year's Knightly Reading book, Mustaches for Maddie by Chad Morris and Shelly Brown. Mustaches for Maddie is a funny and inspiring story about when life's raindrops fall.
Knightly Reading uses a novel approach to reading in that every family in our district will enjoy reading the same book at home and at school. With your help, we can build a community of readers in our district.
