Dear Knight Families,
It has definitely been a busy week at AHGS. Thank you once again for your patience as we navigate through the new guidelines and changes with COVID. I just want to send a few reminders out.
1. If your child is sick please make sure you call the office at 578-2229 to report it. We have protocol and guidelines that we need to follow and our office staff is prepared to walk you through them.
2. If your student or someone in your household tests positive please communicate that with us as soon as possible. We are working diligently with families to make sure we not only follow the proper procedures, but that we also get your student back into the classroom as quick as we can.
3. When you call a child in sick please note that due to the number of students going in and out of the classroom we are giving the teachers 24 hours to gather materials and work. Our teachers are doing an excellent job of working with families and getting students the materials they need to continue learning while at home. If your child is quarantined and is not feeling well enough to join classes online (if they are asked to do that) please email the teacher or call the office and let us know your child will not be joining online that day.
4. If you have been identified as a close contact please let the office know so we can walk you through that protocol as well. "Close contact" means an individual who is within 6 feet of a confirmed or probable case for a cumulative total of 15 minutes or more in a 24-hour period without wearing a mask properly.
We are still working towards our goal of reading 20,000 books for the year. Currently we are at 7,432. Encourage your child to pick up a good book and read! Remember they have the chance to earn individual badges of bronze, silver, and gold.
Our PBIS third quarter goal is focusing on completing work in a timely manner. Our goal is that 80% of work throughout the school will be completed and turned in on time. You can help by having your child check their assignment book each night to make sure they are caught up on work. It is very important that students complete the work assigned to them. Teachers use this work along with classroom work and assessments to ensure students are mastering standards being taught to them.
A reminder that Monday, January 17 we do not have school. We hope you enjoy the 3 day weekend!
