Weekly Wrap

Dear Knight Families,

I want to give a HUGE thank you to all the parents that participated in the Valentine Jar activity. We love our students at AHGS and it is always fun to let the parents show off what they love most about their kids! If you haven't done it yet and still want to go right ahead! I love filling our social media with good stuff about our kids!

TWOSDAY Celebration- We will be celebrating “Twosday” on 2-22-22 Tuesday, February 22, 2022! Your student can join the fun by wearing a tie, tutu, tennis shoes, two of something, or by dressing like a twin!

Due to the bad weather last week we had to reschedule the County-Wide Spelling Bee. The students listed below will be travelling to Monticello on Wednesday, February 23 to compete. We wish them all the best of luck!

5 Essentials Survey

You should have received an email regarding the 5 Essentials Survey. Please DO NOT ignore this email. We are asking parents to take a few minutes to fill out this survey. We use these results to assess the progress of our district. It is very important that you give your input. The results are compiled and put into our Illinois State Report Card. Please use the link above to access the survey. Please choose "Douglas" county when asked to choose the county of the school.  This survey ends March 11. We need at least 20% of our parents to fill it out to get the results.

Reading Goal:  We are still working towards our goal of reading 20,000 books for the year. Currently we are at 9901. Encourage your child to pick up a good book and read! Remember they have the chance to earn individual badges of bronze, silver, and gold.

PBIS: Our third quarter goal is focusing on completing work in a timely manner. Our goal is that 80% of work throughout the school will be completed and turned in on time. You can help by having your child check their assignment book each night to make sure they are caught up on work. It is very important that students complete the work assigned to them. Teachers use this work along with classroom work and assessments to ensure students are mastering standards being taught to them.

Don't forget- Yearbook orders are due March 4. Please send the order form and money with your student to turn into the office!

Have a wonderful weekend!

Mrs. Nall
