We would like to recognize this week's ALAH High School Shining Knights! Students are nominated by teachers for positives with academics, behavior or attitude. Students get a small reward for the week and will then be put in for a monthly drawing for a gift card. This weeks Shining Knights are: Sierra Binion, Sarah Rogers, Ava Wey, Summer Melton, Perla Juarez-Cuevas, Cheyenne Pickett, Skyler Graham, Trinity Stayton, Gracie Romine, Savannah Butcher, and Amberlyn Timm. Congratulations!


Each year two outstanding seniors are given the honor of being named DAR/SAR Good Citizens. This year's winners are Kendall Burdick, DAR and Claire Seal, SAR. High school staff vote for seniors who exemplify dependability, leadership, patriotism and service to the community.


Tomorrow, Friday, Nov. 17 is Picture Retake Day at Arthur Lovington Atwood Hammond High School. Students who were not here for picture day or need their picture retaken for any reason should come prepared. Orders can be placed online at inter-state.com/order with code 81400BT.

Child Development Class & FCCLA students volunteered at 'Ag Safety Day' held for local 5th graders. Our students helped at the "Disabilities Awareness Station" where students were given a scenario of an injury, such as loss of a finger, and the resulting impairment. ALAH students helped students do simple tasks while having that impairment, like use a wheelchair, color, change a diaper, play catch, butter bread, and more.






This month, 24 students were nominated for NHS Student of the Month. Today, these students were celebrated with a breakfast and the October Student of the Month, Maxton Boddy, was recognized. Keep up the great work!

Last week Spanish classes at ALAH learned all about Día de los Muertos or Day of the Dead! This Mexican holiday brings people together to celebrate and remember the lives of those who have passed. The week involved presentations, creating "ofrendas", watching movies, celebrating with Mexican food and drinks and decorating the language hallway.
