Hello Knight Family:
There’s a lot of excitement in the hallways of ALAH this week! Our Student Council wrapped up a fun-filled Halloween Spirit Week with a costume contest today, and our students brought plenty of creativity and laughter to the day. Our girls’ cross country team—along with Beau Green—advanced to sectionals this weekend, our volleyball team brought home a regional championship last night, and round one of the football playoffs kicks off tomorrow afternoon at 1:00!
Of course, amid all the celebrations, our classrooms have been just as lively. Students have been solving algebraic equations, examining a real octopus brought in by EIU, and finishing their writing on The Odyssey. It’s been a busy and rewarding week for our Knights!

Tuesday, November 4: Juniors will take a practice ACT in the morning.
Friday & Saturday, November 7–8: Our fall play, Vintage Hitchcock, takes the stage.
Tuesday, November 11 at 1:00 p.m.: Our traditional Veterans Day Program — families and community members are welcome to attend!
Speaking of Veterans Day, we’d love to include the veterans who are special to your family in our annual slideshow. Please submit a photo of your veteran using this link.
We also have two great opportunities for families to help students earn money toward their senior trip (this year’s cost is $850 per senior, and our goal is for each student to earn their way throughout high school):
Discount Cards: Only 29 left! Each card costs $20, and your student earns $10 per card sold.
Illini Basketball Concession Stands: Working one game through the ALAH Boosters Club earns $105 toward your student’s senior trip balance. If you’re interested, please contact Jenni Burket at 217-412-7326. The first opportunity is November 7, and we’ll cover 16 games this season.
Finally, a quick reminder — our ALAH Food Pantry is open and available to all students and their families. Students may complete the form in their daily announcement email or ask any teacher to help them access it.
