Hello Knight Family:
Even though last Saturday didn’t unfold the way we had hoped, we’re reminded of the many reasons we remain grateful. Our boys’ and girls’ basketball programs are practicing and competing, dates for tryouts for our spring musical Footloose have been announced, and this morning we celebrated an incredible number of student achievements.
Did you know we had 103 students with perfect attendance in September, 92 in October, and 116 in November? Even more impressive—28 students had absolutely no absences for the entire semester. WOW! There is a direct correlation between strong attendance and strong grades, and we congratulate these students and their families for making school a priority.
We also recognized our 13 Shining Knights for the week, chosen by their teachers for academic improvement, positive attitude, helpfulness, and responsibility. In addition, 17 of our freshmen were honored by ACT for their performance on the PreACT they took last spring as 8th graders, placing them in the top 35% of students who took the test statewide. We are especially proud of our three freshmen named Rising Scholars (top 10%) and our one Distinguished Scholar (top 5%).
And finally, we are thrilled to share that ALAH set a school record with nine Illinois State Scholars this year. These seniors earned this prestigious honor based on their junior class rank and ACT composite score, placing them among the top 10% of students in Illinois.
As we head into this busy season, we are especially thankful for our dedicated faculty and staff, our supportive families, and our incredible communities. Your partnership makes achievements like these possible, and we are grateful every day for the privilege of serving our students together.
