Hello Knight Family:
We had a special homecoming moment on Wednesday as we welcomed a local celebrity and 1981 Atwood Hammond High School alumnus, Kent Brown! Mr. Brown recently retired from the University of Illinois, where he served as Associate Athletics Director for Media Relations, and is the author of 100 Things Illinois Fans Should Know and Do Before They Die. During his visit, he shared stories from his career in collegiate athletics and media relations, giving students an engaging, real-world look at career pathways in the sports industry.
Grades are finalized and posted! To view your student’s report card, log into Skyward and look for the Portfolio folder, where you can also find transcripts. We are proud to celebrate 141 students who earned Honor Roll or High Honor Roll recognition—congratulations to our Knights for their hard work last semester! While in Skyward, families can also review service hours (students need two hours per year) and check their senior trip funds earned!
Parents of sophomores and seniors should have received an email this week regarding the Illinois Youth Survey, which will be administered on Tuesday. This anonymous, confidential survey helps schools and communities better support student success. If you prefer that your student not participate, please email me at seegmillers@cusd305.org.
Coming soon … a transportation survey will help us plan effectively for next year’s bus riders and student drivers.
