Hello Knight Family:

Our broadcasting class is working on creating a documentary that will help us celebrate this building and transition into the next.  Check out this video inviting everyone to share their memories. Broadcasting Invite.

Our broadcasting class also created this video about RYLA, a leadership camp for our sophomores, juniors and seniors.  This camp is sponsored by the Arthur Rotary Club.  Students tell us it is a great experience.  What is RYLA?

Today, 12 of our students went to the Purdue Bridge Bust!  They left this morning at 5 am to head to Lafayette, Indiana for their Bridge Bust Competition.  Students signed up for this project in November and began building their bridges in January.  There are over 100 bridges/teams with at least 200 students competing.  This is a great way to show off our science knowledge, compete against students from all over and spend a Friday in March on Purdue’s campus.

Is your student in need of $$ for their senior trip?  (Parents of seniors … those funds are due by April 1st!)  We have another great opportunity.  We have 2 spots left for the afternoon/evening session!

  • We have the opportunity to work a concession stand for the Boys IHSA Basketball playoffs in Champaign at the State Farm center on Saturday, March 14th!

  • We need 9 people to work from 9:00 am to 7:30 pm. (This can be split into two shifts: 9:00 am - 2:15 pm and 2:15 pm - 7:30 pm.)

  • No alcohol will be served. Anyone age 16 and older can work.

  • You will earn $125 per person per shift.  PLUS tips will be split between all those who worked.  (Tips are usually over $1000.00)

    • If a parent and student work both shifts, you could easily make $500 towards their senior trip!

On Thursday, we were honored to host Randy Grimes, a 10-year NFL veteran and former center for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.  Randy shared a raw and powerful account of his journey—from the heights of professional football through a grueling battle with addiction, to his ultimate victory in recovery.  Today, he serves as a renowned interventionist and founder of Pro Athletes in Recovery, dedicating his life to helping others find hope.  We are incredibly grateful to Marissa’s Purpose for sponsoring this visit and providing our student body with such a message of resilience.

Randy now travels across the country sharing his story about the importance of making good choices, overcoming adversity, and helping those who are struggling.

We made it to 25% in the 5 Essentials Survey responses.  The survey is open until March 13th.

Don’t forget our early dismissal on Thursday!

Mrs. Seegmiller
