Hello Knight Family:
Today was Ag Show Day! Mrs. Uphoff along with our FFA students invited all of the district’s second and third graders to the high school for a morning full of farm fun. The petting zoo was a huge hit, featuring a lamb, a pony, a goat and her two kids, chickens, ducks, and calves. We want to give a special shout-out to Sloan’s for loaning us a tractor—the kids had a blast sitting in the seat, honking the horn, and trying their best to "push" it! With cheese tasting, seed planting, and even dog grooming, it was a packed morning. Our FFA students loved the opportunity to share their passion and celebrate National Agriculture Week with our elementary friends!
Our science labs have been equally busy this week with several advanced dissections. Zoology students explored marine anatomy through starfish, while our A&P classes transitioned to the study of the brain. Using sheep specimens, students localized and examined key structures, including the frontal lobes, cerebellum, and pituitary gland. It’s been a week of incredible discovery and "real-world" science in action!
The innovation continued in our Interactive Media classroom, where students have been hard at work bringing our future campus to life. Mr. Smith and our students have used the architectural blueprints and transformed them into an immersive Virtual Reality (VR) experience. They have created a digital walkthrough of our upcoming building project. This technology transports you directly into the future hallways and classrooms with a full 360-degree view. It is an amazing application of technical skill that allows us to virtually step into our new spaces before the first brick is even laid!
Of course, the core work continues across all our classrooms—from the final polish on research papers to mastering complex algebra. On the athletic side, track, baseball, and softball are now in full swing, and we are all incredibly thankful that the snow has finally stopped flying! We have one more busy week until Spring Break—once we return, the countdown to the end of the year truly begins.
