Hello Knight Family:
Next week is a significant one for ALAH High School as we transition into our official testing window. The Illinois State Board of Education requires all freshmen and sophomores to complete the PreACT, while our juniors sit for the ACT.
Our primary testing day is Thursday, April 16th. (If your student wakes up with a fever or is too sick to come to school, we will have a make-up day the following week.) To help our students perform their best, we strongly encourage them to get plenty of rest the night before and enjoy a nutritious breakfast that morning. We have a regular start time with varying ending day schedules. Freshmen and sophomores will have an hour-long lunch following their test and then have the option of watching a movie or reading in the library. They will have a regular dismissal time at 3:15. Juniors should finish their test around 1:00 PM and will be finished for the day. The Class of 2026, our seniors, will be off-campus and are expected to conclude their day at approximately 1:15 PM. Please keep an eye on your email for further logistical details.
This assessment is important for several reasons. It demonstrates our academic progress across grade levels, allows our faculty to identify strengths and weaknesses within our curriculum, and provides you with valuable insight into your student’s academic growth. For our juniors, this test is an especially vital resource for their future college and career plans. We recognize that testing makes for a long day, but we ask that you please encourage your student to give their best effort on Thursday morning.
Don’t forget to join us for the Fine Arts Boosters Spring Showcase on Saturday at 7 p.m. in the east gym.
