Dear Knight Families,
This was one of those weeks that makes you tired for all the right reasons. Homecoming brought our students together in ways that go well beyond the classroom… building floats, laughing, maybe some arguing, an enormous amount of competition, and creating new traditions. Did you hear about the Knight (night) Parade? There were definitely some moments this week that I suspect will be talked about for years to come. In the middle of a very busy week, there were a lot of moments that made me stop and think, “This is what high school is supposed to feel like.”
And a week like this does not happen without a lot of people putting in a lot of extra time. A special thank you to our faculty and staff for the extra hours, the late nights, the setup, cleanup, supervision, and all of the things that happen behind the scenes. We have logged a LOT of hours this week, and I am incredibly grateful for the people who are willing to keep showing up and making these experiences possible for our students.
And then there was the pizza. Our enormous pizza order was mysteriously cancelled… and we didn't find out until it was time to pick it up! Thankfully, our Athletic Boosters rose to the occasion during the Knight March and came through with about 500 ice cream treats. Sometimes you need a backup plan… and sometimes the backup plan is ice cream. Boosters for the win!
Finally, thank you to our parents. The extra rides, the dress-up outfits, the last-minute requests, the schedule juggling, and simply helping your tired teenagers make it through the week are no small things. Not to mention one of our new favorite traditions, the ALL SCHOOL COOKOUT! You all rocked it! We know it takes a village to make a week like this happen, and we are grateful for all of the ways our families support our students and our school.
It was a busy week. It was a loud week. It was a really good week to be a Knight. Now it is time to beat the Sullivan Redskins. Game time is 7:00! Hope to see you there.
