Dear Knight Families,

It is hard to believe we have already turned the calendar to October!  This is one of those months that seems to move at double speed.

October is packed with opportunities for our students and families.  Our Student Council will host its annual blood drive, many of our  juniors will take the PSAT/NMSQT plus all of our juniors  practice ACT, and we will welcome families into the building for Parent-Teacher Conferences on October 21 and 22.  At the same time, students and staff are already preparing for our Veterans Day program in November, our fall play is moving into rehearsals, and our fall sports teams will move onto regionals and beyond.

And, of course, there is plenty happening in the classroom in the middle of all of it!

One thing is certain: October will be here and gone before we know it.  We are going to do our best to slow down long enough to enjoy it, celebrate our students, and make the most of everything this month has to offer.

A quick reminder for Wednesday: Jostens will be here to collect orders from our seniors for graduation items.  Our sophomores will also have the opportunity to order a class ring if they choose to do so.  It is hard to believe we are already talking about graduation and class rings but that is October for you!

Be on the lookout for mail from the high school!  Early next week, you’ll be receiving information about your student’s current grades, their ACT scores from last spring, attendance, and any outstanding fees or lunch balances.  We hope this information gives you a helpful snapshot of where your student is right now.

Remember there is no school on Friday as our faculty will be heading to Charleston to the Regional Office of Education’s workshop day.

Mrs. Seegmiller
