ALAH Weekend Update Logo

Hello Knight Family:

Thank you once again for your patience as we navigate through the new guidelines and changes with COVID. I just want to send a few reminders out.

  1. If your child is sick please make sure you call the office at 217)543-2146 to report it. We have protocol and guidelines that we need to follow and our office staff is prepared to walk you through them.

  2. If your student or someone in your household tests positive please communicate that with us as soon as possible. We are working diligently with families to make sure we not only follow the proper procedures, but that we also get your student back into the classroom as quickly as we can.

  3.  If you have been identified as a close contact please let the office know so we can walk you through that protocol as well. "Close contact" means an individual who is within 6 feet of a confirmed or probable case for a cumulative total of 15 minutes or more in a 24-hour period without wearing a mask properly.

  4. Students that are quarantined need to email their teacher to let him/her know. If your child is quarantined and is not feeling well enough to join classes online, we understand.   If your student misses a lab or a test, etc. their teacher may have them make this up during 8th hour study hall when they return.  The most important part is that we are all communicating and working together through this.

Our girls basketball team will be playing in the conference tournament next week.  We are looking towards that championship game on Thursday night. It will be a tough week of games for them.  The tournament is in Cerro Gordo.  Watch our social media for updates on how the team plays and game time announcements.

Our boys basketball team faces LSA tonight in their final Friday night home game starting at 6 p.m. Come out and grab a bag of FFA popcorn and join the Knight Shift as they cheer on our Knights.  Then the snow can start, right?!

This week our flex classes took time to talk about Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. and his work.  Some classes did a scavenger hunt and others listened to his speech.  There is no school on Monday as we honor Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

Have a great long weekend…stay healthy and warm.
