Hello Knight Family:
On Monday during our flex period we will be studying Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Yes, this means that we are in school Monday. We are looking forward to being able to honor Dr. King’s legacy by learning about his work together at school.
Did you know that our drama club is hard at work preparing for our school play? The Three Musketeers will be held on March 10th and 11th on our stage in the old gym. And speaking of fun and exciting activities, your student is welcome to join one of our current activities. We have Art Club that meets on Wednesday afternoons, Game Club that meets several times a month after school, and track, softball and baseball are gearing up for their spring seasons.
On Monday our math and writing center will open back up. We will have peer coaches along with math and English teachers in the library during 8th hour study hall. Any student may come and get help with any math and/or English homework. Students sign up online for an appointment time. A link to the sign up is emailed to them every day.
Speaking of study hall, we had a mistake in last week’s notes regarding the date for students to leave. Just to remind everyone, study hall is mandatory for all ALAH students the first three weeks of the semester. Therefore beginning on Monday, January 23, students who are earning a C average or higher, may leave school. Anytime during the semester students may be required to meet with a teacher to make up a test or work, get extra help or attend a class/club meeting. Please call the office if you have any questions or concerns about any of this.
Did you complete the district survey looking for your opinion regarding the district and facilities last week? It closes in a week and we need your input. The survey may be taken online at research.net/r/CUSD305survey, by scanning the QR code on the flier that you received in the mail, or come by the office to grab a paper copy.
