Hello Knight Family:
Our building is bursting with activities. Our drama club is practicing for their March 10th and 11th performances of the 3 Musketeers, the track team is running hallways and stairs, basketballs are bouncing, percussion and band instruments are playing, scholastic bowl is hammering out questions and that’s just a sampling of a random weekday at 4:00! There is something for everyone and it’s so much fun to be here.
Last week the Arthur Rotary Club invited Scholastic Bowl to join them for lunch at Yoder’s and a friendly competition using their varsity scholastic bowl questions. It was a fun break in the day for our students and their sponsor Mrs. Baldwin. A huge thank you to Arthur Rotary for inviting them.
The Arthur Education Foundation is an organization that works to support our students and faculty. Among other things this organization provides scholarships for students and mini-grants for teachers. Each year the foundation hosts a reverse auction. If you are interested in learning more about the Education Foundation or purchasing a ticket, please contact Mr. Cheek at cheeks@cusd305.org.
We are already preparing for the Class of 2027 to join the high school. Last Friday night we had our JH band join the HS Pep band and on Wednesday evening the Class of 2027 and their parents joined us for freshman orientation. Many upperclassmen were on hand in addition to our staff to lead tours of the school and give information about all of the activities and athletic opportunities available to students.
It’s that time of year again when we are looking for parents to volunteer to join me for a few meetings throughout the spring. This Parent’s Advisory group will meet to give advice about the high school. We will talk about our strengths and weaknesses, areas of concern, brainstorm ways to make our school better and evaluate the current school handbook. If you would like to be a part of this group please email me at seegmillers@cusd305.org.
And speaking of helping out, the state has released the 5 Essential Survey. I know what you are thinking… another survey?!!! Yes, another survey. Here are a few things to know ..
We must have at least 30% of our parents respond.
The survey is anonymous.
We use the results to guide our decisions on everything from instruction to school safety.
Please consider taking a few minutes and completing the survey at 5 Essential Parent Survey
Our girls basketball team completed their regular season this week and will start their regional play on Monday night. The boys finish their regular season next week before heading into regionals. We had a last minute addition to our athletic calendar and are hosting a boys basketball game tonight. It’s not too late to cheer on the Knights this season!
Have a great weekend …
Mrs. Seegmiller
