Dear Arthur CUSD #305 students, staff and families,
Good morning/afternoon/evening. I hope you have had a great week and are able to soak in some of these sunny warmer days. I think we are all ready for Spring and the promise of more warmth and sun!
I wanted to take a moment and say thank you for all the support, patience and cooperation that you have all demonstrated dating back to last March. As I reflect and listen to the struggles that some districts statewide have experienced and continue to experience, I’m forever grateful that we have been able to forge ahead and continue to offer in-person learning for our students. I know that we have also had our challenges along the way but because of the continued support and dedication demonstrated daily to do what is best for our students we have been able to continue ahead and for that I am proud and grateful. It has also been wonderful to see our students be able to participate in our extracurricular activities again. Watching them compete and grow socially and emotionally has been an added bonus to this school year that we honestly were not sure they were going to be afforded the opportunity to do so.
Finally, I wanted to extend one last thank everyone for their flexibility in accommodating our schedule change that starts on Monday. Monday we will be dismissing the grade schools at 2:00pm and the high school will dismiss at 1:47pm. As we were discussing the possibility of extending our school day by a half an hour, I consistently expressed to the staff how exciting and beneficial I think it is any time we can extend the amount of time our students are involved with the wonderful teachers and support staff here at Arthur CUSD 305. So, thank you for your continued flexibility and patience as we make another transition for the rest of the school year. I hope you enjoy this improved weather and have a great weekend.
