Arthur Community Unit School District No. 305 has been made aware of, and is actively responding to, reports related to the arrest of a District employee. The District had no knowledge of the situation until it was made public by law enforcement on Thursday, August 8, 2024.
We understand that there is a likelihood that many reports will be made regarding the situation. As you understand, the District is extremely limited in the information we can release about personnel matters; however, the District wants to reinforce that we are confident in our ability to maintain a safe educational environment with no one at risk of harm. Our students safety is our number one priority and one that we take very seriously.
At this time, we are not aware of any student in our community that has ever been in danger, and we have taken swift and appropriate action to ensure our school community will be safe during this time. We want to thank the police for their quick response to the situation.

The Lovington Grade School office is now open following our summer break. We will be in from 8 am to 3:30 pm Monday through Friday. If you have not yet had an opportunity to register your student. please do so as soon as possible! We are so excited to see each of you for the 2024-2025 school year! Don't forget to mark your calendar for First Knight!
JH Cross Country Announcement: The Board of Education has approved JH Cross Country as a pilot sport for the 24-25 school year. There will be an informational meeting for all 6th-8th grade students (boys and girls) that are interested in participating on 8/5/24 at 6:30 p.m. in the high school cafeteria. Get excited! Lovington's preschool classes start on Friday August 16th! Please check class dojo or email Mrs. Morrow (morrowg@cusd305.org) if you have any questions. New students are required to have their original birth certificate, immunization, physical, and proof of income for all working adults in the household. Returning students need updated proof of income before they can start the first day.
