Our preschool kids are going to be super excited with all the new manipulatives and books delivered today! I am so thankful for my parents who all filled out our treasure maps a few weeks ago to earn our class a shopping spree ❤️

Wanted to take a moment to share a story with you about one of the many amazing things that are happening here at LGS this year and every single day! Our students and teachers are doing the hard work of learning!
One of our many of our Kindergarten students has shown so much growth this year. The student came in to school in August only knowing a few letter names and sounds. Our screening assessment showed a need for phonological awareness skills as well to become a reader. So we started with those skills and alphabet knowledge during our Walk to Intervention times. After Winter Break, the student was able to move up skill level to reading VC (vowel consonant) and CVC (consonant vowel consonant) words. This student also joined the after school literacy program. Just this week, we completed a progress monitor assessment and this sweet student has moved up to learning blends and digraphs! The student is so proud of the hard work they put in and so are we!

Today third grade finished up their Oregon Trail Unit with a STEM project! They had to build their own covered wagons.
