Kindergarten has started their ABC countdown and here is what we did on letter C day: Chalk!

We have been starting our day off on a positive note with positive affirmations every morning in kindergarten. It has been so sweet hearing them repeat these phrases to themselves as the day goes on. :)

Mrs. Floyd's class celebrated Earth Day by decorating rocks to place around the school and picking up trash. We spent time in the STEM lab with 8th graders showing us how to work with programmable LEGOs! We even stopped by Mrs. Hale's 4th grade to check on the baby chick eggs!

Kindergarten had the awesome opportunity to work with 8th grade students in our STEM lab building Legos! It was very cool to see what they created and to discover how the different pieces made their trains move! Thank you 8th grade!

Congratulations to the Red Pandas!! Their team won the school's 2nd ever Battle of the Books. Students in 3-5th grade formed teams, read from the list of 20 Bluestem nominees, and voted for their favorite book. Votes will be counted across the state to select this year's winning title for the Illinois Readers' Choice Award. Special recognition goes out to all the teams. Included is a photo of theRed Pandas (Sofia, Jaelynn, Kyzer, Makai, and Austin) and our runner up, The Unseeners (Kennedy, Mia, Jackson, and Rowen. Not pictured: Emma). Read on!!

D is for double donut day and dance parties!

C is for chalk! And a big thanks to some 8th graders for having some hopscotches and decorations all set up for us to discover!
