Due to the weather it has been decided to move the 8th grade promotion to Saturday, May 28 @ 10:00 am. Students need to arrive to the promotion by 9:30 am. We will send another notification letting you know if it will be held in the Arthur Lovington Atwood-Hammond High School gym or if it will be on the football field. Thank you for your patience and understanding as we depend on the weather to make these calls.
The students of AGS did a great job collecting $6,373.36 for Kids Heart Challenge. The effort was led by second grade student Jaelynn Sanchez with a whopping $1,102.02.

Boys and Girls Basketball Camp!


Today we celebrated Ms. Davis’s summer birthday with a beach party! We had a great time playing games, taking fun pictures, having a beach snack and watching Lilo and Stitch 🥳


Special THANKS to Mr. Peralta for letting us throw water balloons at him as our reward for meeting our Gold Medal Reading Goals! It was a blast! 💥

Douglas County Summer Meals Program

Some AGS teachers are quadruplets today in their black pants and jean jackets!!

Just a reminder that tomorrow evening, Tuesday, May 24 is open house for all of the Arthur CUSD 305 schools. The three grade schools will be open from 5-8 pm and the high school will be open from 6-8 pm. See attached flyer for more information.

Early Dismissal Reminder: Tuesday, May 24 and Wednesday, May 25 the high school will dismiss at 2:00 and the grade schools will dismiss at 2:15. Wednesday is the last day of school.

Today, the district 2nd grades went on a field trip to the Douglas Hart Nature Center in Mattoon. We got to learn more about seed dispersal and what that looks like on the prairie. We got to see different prairie flowers and measure how tall they could grow! One was 170 inches tall! We also had a blast playing on “nature’s playground“ and then had a picnic at Patterson Park! It was a perfect day for fun 😎



Our 4th graders just finished learning all of their states and capitals. They finished the unit researching their favorite states.



Some of the AGS students created Easter cards for United States Marines in North Carolina. We received a thank you card today! Way to give back, students!!!
