JH 7th Grade Girls Basketball Regional Championship 11/22

Jackson Davis was the first 2nd grader to earn his RED reading badge and soon after, Kennedy earned her RED reading goal! I am so proud of both of them. They are well on their way to reaching their bronze! Stay tuned!

I was able to view two amazing book trailers created by some of our students! (The first one was by 8th grader- Josh T. and the second one was created by 7th grader- Teagan M.) I would agree with Mrs. Hill that they did a fantastic job creating them!
Overall the students have been having excellent conversations and participating in the current novel we are reading!

Our thankfulness post today comes from Mrs. Ingram!
My students are picking up on multiplication so quickly it makes me so proud!!! Mrs. Rau has students from my class who are in her RTI group who are reading at a 3rd grade level and doing well on reading them! We’ve been using the stem room with Mrs. Tighe every Monday and it’s something my class loves!

5th grade reading groups are putting on a Thanksgiving play called, " The First Thanksgiving." They each picked their parts and learned about who they are going to be in the play. Some of them are excited to use a different voice while reading their parts while others were excited to hear the story. We will be learning about the Mayflower, choosing what we will pack for our voyage, houses and the overall journey. We will practice our reading parts everyday up to the play and we will also design our own "paper" costumes
5th grade writing- Over the past few months we have been getting monthly updates on our adopted cow Oreo through the St. Louis District Dairy Council school program. Today we will be getting our 3rd month update on our cow, Oreo ,who lives on Knebel Farms. We have learned how to write a letter and have written our farmer letters. He usually sends us a fun activity that is cow related, the kids really enjoy hearing about and seeing Oreo's progress.

Third grader, Luke, was in a challenge with some of his third grade buddies to see who could reach their Bronze goal first! Well Luke won this round! Way to go Luke we are so proud of you!

Mrs. Giorgi shares that her 3-5 book club students are reading about Shirley Chisholm, the first African American woman to serve in Congress. She said “Service to others is the rent you pay for your room on earth” and the students discussed how they pay their “rent” at school, home, and on earth.
Additionally, she adds that the kids helping with concession stands have been nothing short of amazing. They basically run it on their own! They are beyond helpful and I’m very thankful for them.

Ian has earned his other reward for naming all lowercase letters!

Preschool is gearing up for Thanksgiving and thankful for all the family pictures being brought in!
